About

Fort Worth’s Medical Innovation District, in the city’s Near Southside neighborhood, is a city-designated hub home to six major hospital systems — Baylor Scott & White All Saints, Texas Health Harris Methodist, Cook Children’s, Medical City Fort Worth, JPS Health Network (Tarrant County’s only Level 1 trauma center) and UT Southwestern’s Moncrief Cancer Institute — plus, since 2024, TCU’s Burnett School of Medicine. Fort Worth’s 2017 strategic plan designated the district with the stated goal of becoming "the most livable medical district in the US."

Key Features

  • 6 major hospital systems co-located
  • TCU Burnett School of Medicine (opened 2024)
  • JPS Health Network Level 1 trauma center
  • Cook Children's pediatric specialty care
  • UT Southwestern Moncrief Cancer Institute
  • City-backed innovation-district policy

Benefits

  1. Cover North Texas without collapsing the region into just Dallas.
