About
Texas Biomedical Research Institute (Texas Biomed), founded in 1941, is an independent nonprofit research institute in San Antonio focused on protecting communities from infectious disease through basic and translational research into host-pathogen interactions, disease prevention, vaccines and therapeutics. It operates seven biocontainment laboratories — including two CDC-regulated labs — and the Southwest National Primate Research Center, one of only seven U.S. National Primate Research Centers.
